I roll the wounded guy off my air car, then pursue the bad guy. The heroine, riding with me, shoots him.
---- Drove to Van Courtlandt Park to watch Ben and the Stevens team run Cross-Country. They won. Ben, Phil, and Joe were wearing Halloween antennae. Back home, Louise was ready with her mist machine for the Trick'r'treaters.

A bearded man is the ship-mind.
Tricia asks me repeatedly "Do you love the fleet?" The fleet needs someone to sing them through dangerous passages in Southeast Asia, where the map shows weather formations shaped like galaxies. Song shimmers the ship-mind's brainwaves, but no one knows how much of a shimmer is needed to get the ship through. The singer has to be sympathetic to the ship-mind. She has me singing "Swing Low, Sweet Chariot." ----- Louise brings Matt and Erica over. They have horror movie marathon in the garage. I read "Burndive."

October 29 |
I'm working at a company with lots of happy traditions, like the one where we form a long line to pull on a door and pull higher and higher (the opposite of the limo).
Playing the role of the bad guy's female sidekick in the election I pretend to take pictures with a camera that has no film. ---- Ben had some friends from High School over. Louise and Ben wear their costumes for the Anime Club's Halloween Marathon.

October 28 |
I'm at a con where everyone is given a wand called a "tricorder," which shoots sparkles. Glowing dots appear in the air now and then. If you shoot them with your wand, a monster is revealed, a different one each time. You get a point if you're the one to shoot a monster, as well as getting to keep the monster, which is a sort of paper kite.
At the end of the con, the team with the most points wins. Louise joins a team. My wand is broken, and taped in the middle. They'll give you a new wand if yours breaks, but mine still works. After a while it stops working, so I get a new one. I really want to get a monster, so I try going to the upper levels in the hopes of finding one that isn't mobbed by everyone. All around the con there are kittens available for adoption. ---- On the way home, I saw bats swooping over Route 18. Felt a sensation I'd never experienced before. It was indescribable.

Stopped counting mice. Louise brings home Ben's costume and voice modifier.

There's a picture of Thermeon's ship with the logos of three Empire's in my book, even though it's from a much later time in history.
---- In the middle of the night Louise hears a strange tapping from the mouse cube which stops whenever she approaches. We put out four more mice. Louise and I look at the copies of my book sent by Otherworldslibrary. They've destroyed the map and run the final chapters together! I run in the zoo. She a buck chasing the does in their enclosure. Louise brings home her "Witch of the Purple Web" costume.

I find Thermeon and Quokisa in the mansion of my mind. She's just an empty nightgown, so I figures she's me. He answers my questions, but I'm mean to him.
---- I an to the zoo. Nice fall day. Caught three more mice under sink. When released, these mice climb up trees.

Meeting with Islamic men and women to discuss world peace. There's a "no veiling" sign by the women's grandstand. Their biggest fear is the bomb that leaves five colored lines on the walls. One of the women wears a red T-shirt with the slogan "Depend on Us." It reminds me of Maxuas.
I goo over a wall to get to a birthday party with the help of my friends Mickey and Bambi. ---- Total of eight mice caught under sink.

---- Otherworldslibrary told me that "Son of the Stars" was available now. A mouse jammed the mouse cube door with peanut butter. Caught a total of three mice.

In a humorous apocalypse story, I wear a shower cap while others favor aluminum foil bonnets. I put Louise's red motorcycle up high, but with a blanket on the ground under it for when the tremors knock it down. A Bodhi tree matures in seconds.
---- Ran to zoo. Too cloudy for fountain. Worked on "Empress" while Louise played "Majora's Mask."

We watch from the airport with apprehension as some amature takes a jet up.
------ Louise plays Majora's Mask all night while I work on "Empress of the Code."

October 15 |
Virginia and Louise and I are going east to Limogen for breakfast at a restaurant with a Japanese name and a black and white logo. Virginia leads the way down some very steep stairs, and as she talks, I realize that things she's been telling me about Hong Kong and Singapore for time involve the special eggs she's been breeding and sending to those places. Well, everyone needs a hobby, I think.
Outside, we see a bunch of people dressed up for some gathering of the Society of Creative Anachronisms. They're in velvet maroon breeches or riding huge horses. One of the horses has on a maroon headpiece that makes it look like a unicorn, but it doesn't like it, because the cloth coveres its nostrils and makes it hard to breathe. It touches me with its horn. A giant grey mare starts to chew on Virginia's (Louise's hair), loving its scent because she's just shampooed. The mare closes her eyes with contentment, and looks very serene. ---- Bonniebug meeting before work at the store. I bring bagels. Everyone is there except for Lisa with her bum knee.

Corey takes a ride on a little carousel. I think he'll be much too big for it, but he looks as small as the two-year-old boy on the horse next to his.

Foolish fuzzy spider tries to hide in the wrong places.
---- Louise takes the day off because she forgot to reset her alarm after Slayzer comes home. She plays Majora's mask in the garage while Slayzer sits on the couch. I run to the zoo. The fountain is a bare trickle by 4 pm.

Going to a wild river by night to get beef slabs.
---- Slayzer returns at 2 am after a three day absence, very hungry.

I run to the zoo, and explore the path by the bridge. It's still unfinished by the newer part of the bridge. Started "Empress of the Code."

Nanny has pet penguins.
---- Walked past the little island; saw a couple frogs, one big turtle. Sat by the fountain reading "The Quest for Timbuctoo." Ran to zoo in the evening in soft light. When Louise comes, we plant skeletal hands around the half-excavated rock out front as Halloween decorations.

Louise has a Med characture named Gloria. Gloria meets with one of my characters to dry out.

In a house full of bigots, we wait for them to go out to pray to the Gnome's Nose, then slip away.

I started reading over "The Molten Time" in the gazebo on the lake while my car was in the shop. Back home, I put stones around and in the fountain. Louise was getting into voice recognition.

A man named Larry, wearing a tiger suit, meets another tiger in the back of a car driven by the criminal Evdiex. Evdiex drives them over a sagging bridge and they don't care when the car doesn't quite make it over the gap and plunges them to their deaths. They say, "I love you," to each other as they go down.
Later, in a big concern, it's about losing assignments. Louise is blowing up huge helium balloons for Halloween, and I'm trying to find my cowboy or Wonder Woman costume. The conductor leaves her baton with me. | |

At the security agency, bigwigs are being entertained by a famous writer.
------ Had a good think before rising, then ran to the zoo. Saw one egret on the pond. Envisioned the openings to the Code War and Great War novels.

A kid has broken my Danish plate, even though I told him how I valued it and warned him not to move it on his own.
Doing time travel quests. ----- Louise and I are out for a run to our banks, but I can't go into my bank due to fumes. Louise decorates the mailbox with a purple bat garland. I mowed. I passed "Drop Out" in light mode on DDR Extreme.

They're tearing up more of the willows at the park. One guy feels it's his fault because he spiked a football there, but I explain that I was stomping around there too. Tornados comes, and we all run; I run on all fours.
